Cross-sectional descriptive study with 85 pregnant adolescents, selected by convenience, referred by health centers to a public hospital in Mexico City. Risks were evaluated before, during and after delivery and in puerperium, and measured respectively with the "Previgenes" that compose the Reproductive and Perinatal Risk Assessment System. The study contributed to identify strategies to approach risk considering the vulnerability inherent in this type of population and favored the conduct of appropriate interventions for the respective needs.

Lesion onset occurred approximately 2 months earlier in both patients, and both were 2—3 months pregnant. Routine pregnancy screenings were done, and blood counts and biochemistry were within the normal range. The diagnosis for both patients was localized ATL LCL , since Leishmania parasites, characterized as Leishmania braziliensis , were isolated from lesions, whereas isolation of fungi and bacteria including mycobacteria was negative. This was confirmed by histopathology and IHC. As the patients were pregnant, specific anti-leishmanial treatment was not started, and the patients were monitored monthly. No other skin or mucosal lesions were detected. About 2 months after delivery, the exuberance of the lesions had decreased; they became shallower and less secreting.
